Condemning the rape case that took place at the Infosys campus in Pune, former Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Barkha Singh on Tuesday said the judiciary must formulate new laws and added that fear must be created in the minds of the criminals.

"It is very unfortunate if women are not safe in such renowned institutes. It is nation's misfortune that in spite of so many laws, there is no fear in the minds of the criminals. Judiciary should formulate new laws. Fast track court has been formed, but they are working as regular courts," Singh told ANI.

"Till the time the criminals are not hanged in rape cases, this is not going to stop. We have to take stringent action to stop this. We have to create fear in the minds of criminals," she added.

Earlier today, two Pune Infosys campus employees were arrested in connection with an alleged rape of a woman.

The victim, who works as a cashier at the Infosys phase 1 campus canteen, was allegedly raped on December 27 by two housekeepers.

An FIR has been lodged against the two and the police is investigating the matter.
