German Ambassador to India Michael Steiner on Sunday opined that the documentary on the Nirbhaya rape case made by the BBC portrays the 'reality' in India, adding that its broadcasting is necessary to bring about change in the country.
"The BBC documentary is showing reality and I think that is what women here want. It is encouraging that a debate is ongoing [on whether it showed be broadcast]. There is a need to show things as they are, because that is what brings change," Steiner told ANI.
The documentary in question, titled 'India's Daughter', includes an interview of Mukesh Singh, who is among the six men accused of gang-raping a 23-year-old girl on December 16, 2012 on board a moving bus.
