IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla on Sunday said the BCCI respects the Justice R.M. Lodha Committee's verdict on the Indian Premier League spot-fixing scandal and has decided to constitute a sub-group to implement the panel's recommendations accordingly.

"We have decided to implement the Lodha committee's report. We respect the verdict and will abide by their decisions," Shukla said after the conclusion of a meeting by the IPL Governing Council in Mumbai.

"The IPL Governing Council authorized me to constitute a working group which will submit a report within six weeks on how will it be implemented," said Shukla, adding that the recommendations would be reported back to the Governing Council.

Shukla further asserted that they would consult their sponsors, broadcasters, state associations, legal experts, before submitting their final report to the BCCI's working committee.

In a landmark judgment, the Justice Lodha committee found Chennai Super Kings (CSK) official Gurunath Meiyappan and Rajasthan Royals (RR) co-owner Raj Kundra guilty, and imposed life suspensions on the duo.

The committee also suspended Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals from participating in the IPL for a period of two years.
