The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is planning to felicitate Virender Sehwag, who recently announced his retirement from international cricket last week, during the upcoming four-match Test series against South Africa.

India will aim to bounce back when they will take on South Africa in the first Test in Mohali on November 5 after suffering T20 and ODI series against the tourists.

According to reports, the swashbuckling batsman will be honoured on the final day of the fourth Test at his home ground Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi.

The 37-year-old explosive opener, who is popularly known as the 'Nawab of Najafgarh', holds multiple records including the highest score made by an Indian in Test cricket (319) and the fastest triple century in the history of international cricket (he scored 300 in 278 balls).

In a glorious international career spanning over 12 years, Sehwag has played 104 tests and scored a staggering 8,586 runs at an average of 49.34 and has amassed 8,273 runs at an average of 35.05 in 251 ODIs.

Meanwhile, Sehwag has confirmed his participation in next month's inaugural Cricket All-Stars series, co-promoted by Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne, in the United States.

Earlier on Sunday, the BCCI had honoured former pace spearhead Zaheer Khan during the deciding ODI against South Africa at the Wankhade Stadium.
