Former world number one Boris Becker has said that he hopes to continue working as Novak Djokovic's coach and aims at maintaining the Serb on the top position.

Becker said that he and Djokovic have a very good relationship, and added that they have built a lot of experience, a lot of trust. He said that they like it very much and want to continue, adding that that is the plan.

Becker, who won six Grand Slams during his own career that included three Wimbledon titles, also said that the year has been successful but added that it is not yet over, as Djokovic looks to retain the titles he won last year at the Paris Masters in London, Sport24 reported.

Djokovic began working with Becker in January and the partnership has seen him win a second Wimbledon title and reclaim the world number one spot.

Becker said that holding on to Djokovic's status as world number one would remain the primary objective for next season, rather than attempting to win Roland Garros, the one Grand Slam title that has so far eluded the Serb.

Becker said that of course Djokovic wants to win Roland Garros in the future, but added that that's one of his many goals next year. He said that when one is a tennis player he has many goals, not only one tournament.

The German said that he thinks the main thing is always the ranking, adding that to stay at the number one position means to be consistent during the whole year and that includes Grand Slams.

Djokovic lost to Rafael Nadal in the final of this year's French Open but has won in Rome, Miami, Indian Wells and recently in Beijing, with Becker seeing signs of improvement in his game, the report added.
