German tennis legend Boris Becker has admitted that it would be almost impossible to replicate his feat of winning Wimbledon at a young age of 17, thus highlighting fierce competition existing in the game nowadays.
Becker became the youngest player to win the Wimbledon title at the age of 17 in 1985 and went on to defend the title next year.
Reflecting on his feat, Becker said that it is 30 years this year, adding that the longer it goes the more incredible it seems, News.com.au reported.
The current coach of World number one Novak Djokovic further said that tennis nowadays is an age where one has to be 23 or 24 to start breaking the top 10 and the best players are between 25 and 30, the report added.
So to be able to win at 17 and 18 again, just to be as dominant at that age, it seems almost impossible nowadays, he added.
