David Beckham has reportedly unveiled new plans for his 125 million-pound football stadium for his new Major League Soccer (MLS) team in Miami after the original scheme was ruled out following objections from businesses and residents.

Revised proposals have been drawn up for the stadium and the new 20,000-seater venue will be put up at a water side location next to Miami's Museum Park on Biscayne Bay and would be similar to the Olympic Stadium in London, surrounded by plush greenery.

According to the Daily Star, the news plan is focused around a 12 million-pound project that would fill in an under used water basin next to the American Airlines Arena, which is home of basketball side Miami heat.

Beckham said that by expanding Museum Park with new public spaces anchored by world-class art and science museums and a world-class soccer club, he and his business partners would be activating the waterfront on a year-round basis.

Beckham's MLS franchise is due to start playing in 2016 or 2017, the report added.
