Ben Affleck is in negotiations play lead in the upcoming thriller 'The Accountant.'
According to the Hollywood Reporter, 'Warrior' helmer Gavin O'Connor is in talks to direct the Warner Bros. project, from a script by Bill Dubuque, which was also included on the Black List of most anticipated screenplays in 2011.
Affleck, who would soon be seen 'Gone Girl' and 'Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice' would play the role of an accontant who moonlights as an assassin if the deal is sealed.
The project had been knocking around since 2011, with several directors including Mel Gibson and the Coen brothers circling it over the years. Will Smith was at one time eyeing the project as the lead.
The film would be produced by Lynette Howell and Mark Williams, while Drew Crevello and Jon Gonda oversee it for Warner Bros.
