Ben Whishaw will now be the voice of the cuddly bear after Colin Firth's departure from the upcoming film 'Paddington.'
The 33-year-old actor had already started recording for the project which also stars Nicole Kidman, Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Peter Capaldi and Jim Broadbent, Metro.co.uk reported.
The 'Skyfall' star told a UK publication that though he was skeptical about the role initially, he was "persuaded" for it.
Earlier in June, Firth had "consciously uncoupled" from the project after the producers didn't find 'The King's Speech' star's voice to be right for the character.
Meanwhile, director Paul King said that Whishaw "breathed and spoke" the character and was just the voice for the project, which is anticipated to hit the theatres in November 2014.
