Benedict Cumberbatch has opened up about his engagement announcement, revealing that he would have done it the traditional way even if he wasn't famous.
The 38-year-old 'Sherlock' actor, who declared his engagement to the 36-year-old Oxford-educated theatre director in the Forthcoming Marriages section at the back of a newspaper, said it was a normal thing in his country, and he had always preferred the "old school" way to share the news with his loved ones before they got the news through paparazzi, the Mirror reported.
The announcement had read: "Mr BT. Cumberbatch and Miss S.I. Hunter: The engagement is announced between Benedict, son of Wanda and Timothy Cumberbatch of London, and Sophie, daughter of Katharine Hunter of Edinburgh and Charles Hunter of London."
Cumberbatch, who had kept his relation to Hunter out of the limelight, had starred with his fiance in short horror Burlesque Fairytales back in 2010, which may have been when the sparks first flew between them.
