Benedict Cumberbatch recently tried to comfort the heartbroken female fan after it was reported that the actor got engaged to theater director Sophie Hunter.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the 38-year-old actor, who admitted that he is a very happy man post his engagement, joked and asked his female fans to not worry as their ovaries still have use.
The 'Sherlock' actor further added that he has a great population of fans and they are smart, so they'll get around to the idea.
Cumberbatch made the announcement of his engagement with a newspaper ad earlier in November, because it's kind of the way he would have done it if he wasn't in this exalted, weird position of being famous for being an actor.
'The Imitation Game' star mentioned that it's the way they do things back at home in Blighty and it's what he did to try and normalize the situation, rather than some grainy photography of some wedding ring.
When asked about whether or not his mother has already started asking for Cumberbabies, he responded dodging the question that he definitely don't think his mum would use that term, but there are people out there who seem to create collective nouns for everything to do with the first part of his name.
