'Beyond the Lights' actress, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, has recently joined the star cast of Will Smith's untitled NFL concussion drama movie.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the untitled Sony project would be based on the GQ article Game Brain by Jeanne Marie Laskas.
Described as a whistleblower tale, it follows the doctor, played by the 'Men in Black' actor, who discovered that major head injuries and life-long debilitating problems were facing NFL players because of repeated concussions.
Peter Landesman will direct and has written the script. Ridley Scott, Giannina Facio and Michael Schaefer are producing for Scott Free, while David Wolthoff and Larry Shuman are also producing. Hannah Minghella and Jonathan Kadin are overseeing for the studio.
