A traffic constable on Thursday offered to donate one of his kidneys to External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, who is presently undergoing treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) post kidney failure.
"I came to know about her health through newspapers. If my blood group will match then I am ready to give my kidney to Sushma ji. I have also made an offer through Twitter," Gaurav Dangi told ANI.
When asked about his gesture, Gaurav said, "Sushma ji is a good leader and we need her to be well and that is why I offered my kidney."
The traffic constable also said that it was his personal call and added that he does not have any political link with her.
Swaraj yesterday said that she was at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) because of kidney failure and was undergoing tests for transplantation.
"I am in AIIMS because of kidney failure. Presently, I am on dialysis. I am undergoing tests for a Kidney transplant. Lord Krishna will bless," she tweeted.
