Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajiv Pratap Rudy on Friday termed the recent unearthing of mass incidents of cheating in the Class 10 Board examinations in Bihar as 'unfortunate', adding that such behavior will have an adverse impact on the learning ability of the students.

"The scenes that we saw of students cheating during exam is very unfortunate; this should be banned. This behavior will have an adverse impact on students' learning abilities," Rajiv Pratap Rudy told the Media.

"As long as we stay dependent on degree-based education and class-based education, the situation will remain the same," he added.

Rudy further stated that the government formed the Ministry of Skill Development so that those who are not interested in studies can develop skills in their areas of interest.

On Thursday, family members of students appearing for their Class 10 board exams were seen mounting over the school wall to pass chits and assist their wards in the exam hall.

Despite the invigilator in the exam room catching students cheating; they were allowed to continue with the exam.

Young children were also allowed to saunter into the exam hall where Bihar Board exams were taking place, with answers in bits of paper for the students.
