The Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday questioned Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on his allegiance to the Mahagathbandhan (Grand) alliance, and accused him of playing dirty politics with the people of the state for his own nefarious gains.

They also highlighted the 'rampant instability' within the Mahagathbandhan.

"The common man understands that the Mahagathbandhan can't work together. They can't work in unison ever for a single day. In the morning, its cooperation followed by operation, then comes separation in the evening, and finally, depression at night. You have seen this JD-U pattern before," Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu told reporters here.

He expressed confidence in the people of Bihar, saying they had already made up their mind to chose the BJP, as they wanted both development and progress.

"People want to see the beautiful vision of Sonia ji, Lalu ji, Nitish ji and Rahul ji sharing the stage together for their campaign. This is the same Congress that imprisoned Nitsh and Lalu in jail and the same Nitish who fought with Lalu over the fodder scam," Naidu said.

Reflecting Naidu's thoughts, Union Communication and Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad stressed on Nitish's first priority being to always ensure his own gains, without thinking about the damages he was leaving behind.

"First, he made the Samta Party. Then, he came into the NDA and became the CM with BJP's support, and later, because of his hatred towards Modi ji, he fell into the lap of Lalu Yadav. So clearly, Nitish has been fooling the people of Bihar for his own nefarious needs," Prasad told reporters here.

Escalating the war of words, Nitish had earlier today attacked Prime Minister Modi over the drop in Indian exports for 10 straight months, saying that instead of promising 'Acche Din', the return of 'Purane Din' (Old days) would be appreciated.

The campaigning in the Bihar polls so far, has witnessed the BJP highlighting the mahagathbadhan's failure to bring their leaders together to share a dais and the grand alliance in return, has been pointing out the NDA Government's failure to curb communal tension in parts of the country.
