Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leader Chirag Paswan on Thursday said that his party has arrived at a consensus with the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) on 29 out of the total 40 seats allocated by the latter to contest the Bihar assembly polls.
"Out of the 40 seats, we have an agreement on 29 seats. Officially, we had a Parliamentary Board meet today. We will announce our first list of candidates for the Bihar polls tomorrow. I am sure we will arrive at a consensus on rest of the seats by tomorrow," Paswan told media here.
Paswan had earlier said his party was not upset with the 40 seats allocated to them, but slightly shocked and taken aback, as it was not the number of seats that was promised to them.
The term of the 243-member Bihar assembly comes to an end on November 29. Polls in the state will begin on October 12 and end on November 5. Counting of votes will take place on November 8.
