Two bikers robbed Rs. 1.5 crores at gunpoint from the Citi Bank ATM situated in North Delhi's Kamla Nagar area on Saturday and also shot the guard.
Joint Commissioner of Police from Central Range Sandip Goyal confirmed the incident.
"The incident happened at around 11 a.m. in the morning when the cash van had come to load the cash in Citi bank's ATM. When they took the cash inside the ATM and cash van's armed guard was outside, two boys on bike opened fired at him thereby critically injuring him and after that they went inside the ATM and at gun point robbed the cash briefcase and ran away," said Goyal.
"The cash van had Rs. 1.5 crore inside it, which the robbers took away with them. The cash custodians had taken out the cash from the van and reached the ATM but before loading it inside the machine the robbers looted it," Goyal added.
He further informed the media that the injured guard Govind was shot on head; he is critical and is undergoing treatment in the Trauma Center.
He also said that one more guard was present inside the ATM.

Post the incident the police has cordoned off the area.
"We heard firing after which we ran to see what happened; there were two boys on a bike and they ran with a blue colour box in hand. We saw the guard lying there," added Girish, an eyewitness.
