'Birdman', 'The Grand Budapest Hotel' lead Oscars nominations with 9 nods each

'Birdman' and 'The Grand Budapest Hotel' have been nominated for nine Academy Awards each i.e. they are leading the race with maximum nods, it has been confirmed.

'The Imitation Game' has been nominated for eight awards, 'Boyhood' and 'American Sniper' has been nominated for six awards each, the BBC reported.

'Foxcatcher',' Interstellar', 'The Theory of Everything', and 'Whiplash' have bagged 5 nods each.

Fresh his Golden Globe win, Eddie Redmayne, again nominated for his role as Stephen Hawking in 'The Theory of Everything', told the publication that it was the crack of dawn and he went from being in a deep dark sleep to hearing this news and he could not quite articulate what he was feeling but he felt pretty good.

Meryl Streep bagged her 19th Oscar nomination for her role in 'Into the Woods' more than any other actor or actress in history.
