BJP and SP had tacit understanding during Muzaffarnagar riots, says BSP

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Sudhendra Bhaduria on Thursday alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Samajwadi Party (SP) had a tacit understanding during the Muzaffarnagar riots.

"The time Muzaffarnagar riots took place, both the BJP and the Samajwadi Party had a tacit understanding and there was a fixed match going on. This is the finding of the committee also, so it retreats our views that Mulayam ji and the BJP forces were together and trying to create a constitution in a country through UP of communal divide," Bhaduria told ANI.

"We have seen that there has been communal divide and I think that the finding of the report only vindicates our viewpoints of both these forces have a tacit understanding of a communal divide of this country and more particularly in UP," he added.

Bhaduria further said that both of them stood exposed completely before the nation and in front of the people of Uttar Pradesh.

The one-man inquiry commission of retired judge of Allahabad high court Vishnu Sahai probing the Muzaffarnagar riots that took place in August 2013 submitted its report to Governor Ram Naik on Wednesday.

The commission headed by Justice Sahai was formed to look into administrative lapses in controlling the violence and role played by media as well as politicians in flaring up the riots.

Around 60 persons were killed during the violence and dozens of houses and shops were gutted in the arson that continued for days.
