The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday congratulated the Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led Madhya Pradesh Government which completes 11 years in office tomorrow, and expressed hope that it would rule the state even in the days to come.

"I would like to congratulate the Government of Madhya Pradesh. I think the BJP has been in power in the state for the last 11 years. Possibly tomorrow is the day when the BJP completes 11 years of continuous power in Madhya Pradesh and as the king stand today," BJP spokesperson G V L Narasimha Rao told ANI here.

"And the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, is extremely popular and I see the BJP ruling the state for a very, very long time to come. The people of Madhya Pradesh have reposed their faith in the leadership of Shri Chouhan repeatedly including local body elections held only a few weeks ago," he added.

Chouhan tomorrow will complete one year in office of his third stint as the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister.

The BJP swept the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh held in December 2003. Chouhan, who replaced Babulal Gaur as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh on November 29, 2005, has held office since then.
