While the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was celebrating the introduction of the Jan Lokpal Bill, the BJP and Congress on Friday questioned the legitimacy of the procedure.

Leader of Opposition Harshvardhan said his party fully supports the Jan Lokpal Bill but strongly condemns the AAP's unconstitutional ways.

"We are in full support of the Jan Lokpal Bill, but its presentation is unconstitutional according to the LG. I request the Delhi Government to follow constitutional procedure and then, present the Jan Lokpal Bill again," he said.

Delhi Congress leader Arvinder Singh Lovely said the presentation of the bill was in gross violation of the Constitution.

"The Jan Lokpal Bill is yet to be properly introduced in the assembly, as the standard procedure requires voting for it. The discussion can happen only after a proper voting for the introduction of the bill. The tabling of the bill is a gross violation of the constitution," Lovely said.

Delhi Law Minister Somnath Bharti, however, said the tabling of the bill was a victory for every Indian who has participated in the anti-corruption movement.

"It is a historical victory for the people of Delhi. It is a breakthrough for everyone who participated in the anti-graft movement as the Jan Lokpal Bill has successfully been tabled in the assembly for a discussion," Bharti said.

AAP leader Manish Sisodia said that BJP and Congress have no right to question the procedure of introduction of the Jan Lokpal Bill, as they have a history of breaking mikes, tearing papers and disrespecting women in the house.
