The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday staged a protest in Patna accusing the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar Government for not paying heed to the concerns of employed sector.

The protesters held posters and encircled the Bihar Legislative Assembly building in Patna during the protest.

The opposition leaders said the ruling Janata Dal United (JD-U) government is hardly taking notice of the protesters voicing their concerns standing outside the assembly.

"Outside the legislative assembly, people from different parties are on a sit-in hunger-strike. The provincial government is not paying heed to their concerns. It is silent on all their problems. They have put their lives on stake during this protest. The government is not concerned with the problems of computer operators, data operators, home guards, workers of the university, the unpaid teachers," said a BJP legislator, Vinod Narayan Jha.

Jha also added that the party will raise the issue during the zero-hour of the assembly.

"As opposition leaders, we all legislators went to meet all the protesters. We felt sad after meeting them and listening to their concerns. That is why we have decided to protest today in order to draw government's attention towards us. We will take up this matter in the zero hour and in the rest of the session of the legislative assembly," he added.
