Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday criticised Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati for not sacking its member Naseemuddinn over his derogatory remarks against Dayashankar Singh's family and said that she should apologise for the remarks made.

BJP leader Shrikanth Sharma told ANI that BJP was quick to axe Dayashankar Singh for his derogatory remark against Mayawati, but the BSP on the other hand did not take any action.

"We expelled Dayashankar who hurled abuses at Mayawati but she has not taken any action against Nasemuddin who demeaned a 12 year old girl. We want him to get expelled and she should herself tender an apology for the comments he made," he said.

Meanwhile, former BSP leader Ajay Prasad Maurya condemned both parties for indulging in such acts and said that in a democracy there is no room for abuses and non violence.

"I condemn these incidents because in a democracy there is no room for abuses and non violence, if anybody utilises this as a tool then I regard them as useless who doesn't have any issues to raise," he said.

Singh, who was last seen at the temple in Deoghar on July 24, has been absconding ever since he was booked for derogatory remarks against the BSP chief.

The complaint lodged by BSP national secretary Mewalal Gautam alleged that Singh's remarks had hurt the feelings of his party workers and the Dalit community across India.
