The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday criticized Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi for labeling the Gujarat Development Model as a 'Toffee Model', and charged the latter with trying to deviate from issues affecting the people.
BJP spokesman Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said: "By making such statements, they are actually trying to hide their mistakes, and this is not going to work. You should tell the country what all you did in the last ten years. But instead of doing this, you are trying to fool people through such statements."
Naqvi also said that the Congress had vowed to finish corruption, price rise, unemployment, terrorism etc, but instead of finishing it, they have gradually increased it.
"The Congress should understand that there many skeletons of corruption and conspiracy are buried in their fort. And if these skeletons came out then the Congress will be finished. So, they should fight the elections on issues," said Naqvi in response to Rahul's allegations that the Gujarat Government had given huge piece of land to businessmen Adani for a throwaway price.
