Condemning the attack on the Paris-based satire magazine Charlie Hebdo, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Sambit Patra on Thursday called it a gory act of terrorism.
"This is unfortunate and a very sad incident. It is a gory act of terrorism. We condemn this act and stand by France in the hour of need. It is time that inhuman forces need to be tackled," said Patra.
Earlier on Wednesday, gunmen entered the offices of Charlie Hebdo and opened fire. According to reports, 12 people, including two police officers were killed in the attack, with five others seriously wounded.
Charlie Hebdo has reportedly been facing threats after it published a series of cartoon depicting Prophet Muhammad in 2011 and more recently, ISIS chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in poor light.
