The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday dismissed Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit's allegation on the ceasefire violations, saying that he would get a better answer if he looks back into the complexities and contradictions of various factions in his own country.
"As far as the allegation of the Pakistani High Commissioner is concerned, it is not based on the facts. India is a mature country and our credibility is established worldwide," BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi told ANI.
"It is an established fact that there are certain elements, which always try to obstruct any serious and honest effort of peace making. So, the Pakistani High Commissioner instead of putting blame on India, if he looks back into the complexities and contradictions of various factions in his own country, he will get a better answer," he added.
The Ministry of External Affairs yesterday summoned Basit to register its protest over the recent ceasefire violations.
However, Basit blamed India for the cross border firings and said that the Pakistan Government is concerned about it.
"We are concerned about the ceasefire violations. In the month of July and August, there have been close to around 70 ceasefire violations from this side of the working boundary. We are obviously very concerned about it," Basit said.
