Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will form the government in Delhi only if it is invited by the Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung, adding that his party does not believe in horse-trading.
"It is LG's call. The BJP is the single largest party in Delhi, if we get an invitation then we will think about it. The BJP doesn't believe in horse-trading," he said.
According to reports, Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung had sent a recommendation to the President to invite the BJP, which has the highest numbers in the Delhi Assembly, to form the government in the national capital.
Delhi has been under the President's rule since February 17 this year after Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal resigned as the Chief Minister over the non-introduction of the Jan Lokpal Bill in the assembly.
