A day after Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati attacked Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and said that he is not fit for the Prime Minister's post, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday said anybody can see dreams in a democracy, and added that its parliamentary board would make an announcement in this regard at an appropriate time.

BJP leader Dharmendra Pradhan said that his party would unfold its strategy regarding Prime Ministership at right time.

"The Parliamentary Board is the competent authority and party president will take advice of everybody and he will announce at an appropriate time," he added, while emphasizing that anybody can see dreams in a democracy.

In a veiled reference to reports that Modi had rescued 15,000 Gujaratis from flood-ravaged Uttarakhand, Mayawati yesterday said that the BSP condemns a political party whose leader talks about saving people only from his own state.

"We strongly condemn the political party, whose leader stakes claim for the post of the PM, but talks about saving people only from Gujarat," said Mayawati without naming Modi.

"A person having such a narrow mentality cannot be the one to occupy the top post with honesty. You have to keep this in mind," she added, while addressing the Brahmin Bhaichara Sammelan at Ramabai Ambedkar Ground in Lucknow.

Mayawati further alleged that some political parties were indulging in 'politics' over the calamity in Uttarakhand.
