With the situation in Hisar, Haryana, remaining volatile due to supporters of self-styled godman Rampal continuing to clash with police, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday said the law is equal for all, and hoped that orders of the court will be followed.
"Law is equal for everyone. The orders of the courts have to be followed by everyone. No one has the right to challenge them in this manner and even take on the police in such a violent manner. We know
that the police is already making every effort, the administration is making so," BJP spokesperson Nalin Kohli.
"At the same time, concern is three for the women, children and the innocent supporters who are forcibly in that situation and they need to be protected as well. We hope the situation will come under control very soon and the orders of the court will be followed," he added.
The Haryana Police, which is making all attempts to nab controversial sect leader, who continues to evade law and defy the Haryana and Punjab High Court orders to surrender, had yesterday used tear gas shells, water cannons and batons outside the ashram to disperse Rampal's supporters, who allegedly fired back leaving several people, including some mediapersons injured.
This incident took place after the Punjab and Haryana High Court had issued a fresh non-bailable warrant against Rampal for contempt of court.
