Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Saturday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of being hungry for power, and added that they can stoop to any level to grab it.
"The opposition, especially the BJP, is hungry for power. It is ready to do anything for grabbing power. They tell lies and that it is what they sell. It is in its veins to spread lies," said Sonia while addressing a rally in her home constituency Rae Bareli.
She alleged that the BJP itself is neck deep in corruption, but is advising the people about fighting it.
"They (BJP) themselves are neck deep in corruption and ask people to fight it. Through their campaign, their real intentions have come to the forefront. They don't feel ashamed while using abusive words. Such views are their identity," she said.
"Development is not possible only by lying. It requires farsightedness, dedication, compassion and a big heart. This is what the speciality of the Congress is. This is the reason why the country is developing today," she added.
She also said that in every election, the opposition attacked her or her family in different ways.

Gandhi also said the people of the country have to choose between two ideologies-one which looks after the poor or the other which only works for the benefit of some chosen people.
