Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Wednesday said the BJP is going to lose the Assembly elections in the state.
"BJP is surely going to lose the Assembly polls. We fail to understand why the BJP is not releasing its candidates' list. Many BJP leaders are quitting the party," said Sasmit Patra while addressing media persons here.
"BJP chief Amit Shah has made tall claims of winning 120 Legislative Assembly seats. But, he is still searching for candidates to field on 147 Assembly seats in Odisha," he said.
BJD and Congress have already released their lists for the first and second phases of Assembly polling on April 11 and April 18. However, the BJP is yet to declare its candidates.
The Election Commission has set the last date for filing of nomination papers for the first phase of polls is March 25 while the second phase is March 26.
It is worth mentioning that three MPs and three MLAs have quit the BJD after being denied tickets in the simultaneous Lok Sabha and Odisha assembly polls.
