Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader M. Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday labelled Congress general secretary Shakeel Ahmed's tweet that it was the 2002 Gujarat riots that led to creation of terror outfit Indian Mujahideen, as a stupid argument.
"It is a stupid argument. Pakistan had been funding these outfits. So, please desist from helping enemies of the country.... Too much of tweeting will lead to quitting," Naidu told reporters here.
Ahmed had earlier said that the Indian Mujahideen was formed after Gujarat riots, and based his views on the charge sheet prepared by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
He also accused the BJP and the RSS of continuing with their brand of communal politics, and suggested that if this was abandoned, terror outfits like the Indian Mujahideen would cease to exist.
On China's alleged attempts to encroach into Indian territory again, Naidu sarcastically suggested that it seemed as if India has agreed to withdraw from India.
Asked to state the BJP's stand on foreign direct investment in the defence sector, Naidu said the government should first announce the cap in the sector.

"With regard to FDI in pension and insurance sectors, we will support the Standing Committee of the Finance Ministry and not the government," he said.
He also charged the Congress with using the CBI for "political gains" and said the probe agency has lost its credibility.
He questioned why former Railway Minister and Congress leader Pawan Kumar Bansal had not been arrested as yet, despite there being strong evidence of his role in the railway appointments scam.
Naidu challenged the UPA and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to engage in a national debate on its performance.
"I challenge the Prime Minister and his cabinet ministers to come for a national debate to review the performance of the UPA and NDA regimes" he said.
He said that electronic media often presents a very distorted picture on this front, focusing only on one bad year, whereas the case should be of examining the last nine and-a-half years of bad Congress-led UPA rule.
