Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders heaped praises on the first Union Budget presented by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh praised the Budget by saying that it was poor friendly, youth friendly, farmer friendly, women friendly and senior citizen friendly.
Union Minister Prakash Javadekar, too, said, "It gives growth to the country and farmers, it is a good budget. Tourism has also been given importance. It will help in the growth of the country. This budget is to give employment and it will help in irrigation. Every state has got something."
Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu also said, "The Budget will improve health and wealth of nation. It's aimed at operational revival of nation's economy."
The Finance Minister today presented the maiden Union Budget of the Modi government and announced a slew of measure including Rs 7060 crores for developing smart cities, launching Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Yojana and allocating Rs 200 crores for Sardar Patel's statue.
He also announced five new IITs and five new IIMS will be set up in States and Rs 100 crores for a project to link rivers.
