Rejecting the Congress Party's charge that it was involved in programmes celebrating Nathuram Godse's 66th death anniversary, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday said it has nothing to do with such right-wing organisations.

"Some organisations are carrying out programmes in the name of Godse, we condemn that, and in fact, we have nothing to do with any of these organisations," BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra told ANI.

Patra also added that it is absolutely appalling to learn that the congress without checking any facts tries to malign the Bharatiya Janata Party.

"Without getting their facts right the Congress party out of frustration starts maligning the name of BJP is absolutely a wrong trend," he added.

Several right wing groups assembled at Panvel today to commemorate the 66th death anniversary of Nathuram Godse, the man who assassinated Father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi on January 30, 1948.

Some of these groups reportedly celebrate Godse's death anniversary on November 15th throughout Maharashtra every year.
Godse was hanged on November 15, 1949 following his conviction.
