The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday alleged that the recent incident of ceasefire violations from the other side of the border puts a question mark on Pakistan's intent and said that India cannot be just a mute spectator if these activities continue to take place.
"The government has taken into consideration the issue of terrorism, the firing on the border and other civilian matters like exchange of fishermen and their arrest etc. We have tried to move ahead on these aspects. But there are certain complexities and contradictions in the establishment of Pakistan that whenever the Government of India tries to go ahead with an honest approach, these type of provocative activities start," BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi told ANI.
"But this shows that the intent of Pakistan and the entire establishment of Pakistan's motive are not that much clear. This puts question mark on them. If the killing of our innocent civilians goes on, then we cannot be just a mute spectator on the border," he added.
Heavy shelling and firing by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district left six civilians dead and 15 others injured.
Firing and shelling in entire Balakot Sector again broke out this morning. Heavy firing and shelling in Poonch Sector is continuing since midnight.
Panic has been prevailing among the people living along the border and they have started migrating towards safer places.
