Gujarat Chief Minister and the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) prime ministerial aspirant Narendra Modi on Friday said his party would fulfill the people's dream of seeing a Congress-free India.

"In Northern India, no one believes that even in Tamil Nadu there is a wave of change.

I am here to convey my feelings and thank everyone here regarding the Trichy rally. It was great success, and the credit goes to the people of Tamil Nadu and to the BJP workers of Tamil Nadu. And today again, the mood of the workers shows that they are determined to fulfill the dream of Congress-free India," he said while addressing a rally here.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) on Friday protested against Modi's visit to Chennai.

Slogan shouting protesters sought the cancellation of Modi's visit.

"We, the youth of Tamil Nadu, are totally against Narendra Modi as Prime Minister candidate. We don't want to support him because of (his) communal attitude. He has spoiled the secular fabric of this country," said a DYFI member Deepa.
