Blackberry has reportedly launched the Z3 "Jakarta" edition, which is unique to the Indonesian market at launch.
According to TechCrunch, the 200 dollar device has entry level specifications, as Blackberry wanted to make a touchscreen phone that competes with low-cost Android devices.
BlackBerry used to count Indonesia as one of its most important international strongholds, and the Z3 'Jakarta' is an attempt to renew the siege to get it back.
Some of the special 'launch edition' devices have 'Jakarta' inscribed on the back, but internally it is same as the other standard version of Z3.
The specs of the new device will include a 5-inch touchscreen with 540x960 resolution, BlackBerry OS 10.2.1, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1.5GB of RAM, a 5MP rear camera with 1080p video recording, a 1.1MP front-facing camera, and a 2,500mAh non-removable battery, the report added.
