A blind British golfer has reportedly broken records by being the only visually impaired golfer to hit five holes in one within just four years of taking up the sport.
48-year-old Peter Osborne, who is one of the top three registered blind golfers in the world, is now being funded by companies to play tournaments around the globe in 201.
According to the Daily Star, the Lancashire resident, who found out he had an early form of macular dystrophy in 2003, has a handicap of 11 and can determine what obstacles he has in his way and where to hit his shots on the course by using a bright yellow ball and a range finder.
Osborne, who plays on the Scottish Disabled Golf Partnership and the European Disabled Golf Association tours, is being given 2000 pounds by global optical chain Specsavers to help fund his world tour.
Describing his Bull's Eye Maculopathy as 'living in a small fuzzy world of about 30 to 50 yards', Osborne said that he could not wait to encourage disabled children to take up the sport, adding that he hopes to raise the profile of blind and disabled golf and inspire other blind and visually-impaired people.
Osborne also said that he is now working with disabled charities to encourage disabled people of all ages into sport, adding that although his method of playing golf is slightly different to that of the top PGA players but it still does the job.
