Swiss startup company Blinq has updated its dating app with a new feature that allows users to find people who fit their criteria and happen to be hanging out at the same location as them.
The new update works with an in app feature called InstaConnect which notifies users if any of their dating matches happen to be at the same place, reported TechCrunch.
The app has incorporated beacon proximity technology into the mix so that users can move beyond the virtual world and meet their dating matches in person.
Blinq has mostly rolled out the Bluetooth iBeacons in Zurich so far, as part of its pilot, and is still in a learning phase with the proximity technology.
The beacon feature is only available on Blinq's iOS app. However, the team said that they are in discussions with brands and venues to expand this footprint.
