German car manufacturer BMW has launched its locally produced BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo.
Priced at Rs 42.75 lakh, the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo was launched in Chennai at the BMW exclusive dealership KUN Exclusive, a company statement said on Saturday.
The car is being locally produced at the BMW Plant at Mahindra World City in Singaperumal Koil, near Chennai.
It will be available in a diesel variant (the BMW 320d Gran Turismo).
The statement quoted BMW Group India President Philipp von Sahr, as saying that the 3 Series Gran Turismo is equipped with coupe-style roofline, frameless side windows and a flowing rear end with large load aperture.
It is also equipped with rear spoiler that is automatically deployed when the car travels at 110 kmph and retracted at speeds below 70 kmph, it added.
The vehicle is fitted with 2.0 litre BMW Twin Power turbo four cylinder diesel engine combing common rail direct injection and can travel 0 to 100kmph in 7.9 seconds. The top speed is 226 kmph, it said.
