Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has accused the BNP-Jamaat nexus of committing secret killings with the objective of toppling her Awami League-led government.
Hasina said this during the inauguration of the Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Eye Hospital and Training Institute and the laying of the foundation stone of the Sheikh Lutfar Rahman Dental College in Gopalganj today, reports Daily Star.
She said that the BNP-Jamaat clique does not want the nation's development and is killing and burning people, besides committing widespread destruction.
The Prime Minister said that the BNP-Jamaat combine has attacked mosques, temples and churches when they were in power and even killed a Krishak League leader inside a mosque in Bogra.
Those who were engaged in money laundering, corruption and embezzling orphans' money cannot change the fate of the common people, she said.
Sheikh Hasina said due to this politics of revenge by the BNP-Jamaat alliance, the southern region of the country, particularly Gopalganj, has always been neglected.
