New Delhi, July 29 (ANI): Musical duo Armaan and Amaal Malik's journey in Bollywood's music industry was not a fairytale at all.
Despite belonging to a family which has been in the film industry for years, the duo had a huge challenge to break through the stereotype of being born with a silver spoon and create music that would keep up with the ever changing mood of the present generation.
In a recent conversation with ANI, the 'Bol Do Na Zara' singer said it is not easy to be successful in Bollywood.
"People don't think music to be a reliable source of income or career, which I will agree in a way because Bollywood is a very risky place to be in. In this filmy world, you will have success today but may not have it tomorrow. But if you are prepared to face the challenge it throws, that's when you should venture in this industry. I was ready for this and had all sorts of support from my parents."
Terming Armaan's decison of becoming a singer as a 'bold' one, the 'Roy' music director said, "People expected Anu Malik or my dad, Dabboo Malik, to give Armaan a break as he was the first singer from a family of music composers. But that didn't happen. Armaan spoke to the best of the industry and I have assisted the best music directors in India to know what goes behind music making. So, none of us had an advantage."

For the first time ever, the duo will be judging a reality show on radio and they are pretty excited about it.
On being asked what are they looking for in the contestants, Armaan said what matters to him is how a contestant performs in front of the audience, while for Amaal the singer should have an 'X factor'.
Armaan and Amaal will be judging 92.7 BIG FM's singing talent hunt Benadryl BIG Golden Voice Season 4.
