The Artistic director of the famed Bolshoi ballet, Sergei Filin, who was a victim of an acid attack in January, recently made an appearance at the company's Moscow theatre.
Filin was left with severe burns to his eyes and face when a masked attacker threw a jar of sulphuric acid on his face as he was returning home.
The 42-year-old Filin, who had joined his company in the theatre for the traditional season-opening ceremony, thanked his colleagues for their support, the BBC reported.
Filin, however, asserted that he was not yet ready to resume work and would be travelling back to Germany for continued treatment.
At the event, Filin, who has undergone 22 operations on his eyes since the attack, also praised the ballet company for their "brilliant and hugely successful" London tour in August.
