England all-rounder Ravi Bopara believes that English one-day cricket needs to change their culture quickly and develop a fearless attitude in the game following their shocking World Cup exit in the group stages.
All-rounder Bopara was hooked from the side on the eve of the tournament, only playing the dead rubber against Afghanistan despite being one of the team's most experienced and explosive players.
And Bopara believes that a fear of failure held England squad back as they were dumped out at the group stages, The Mirror reported.
The all-rounder said that they need to change their culture and change it quickly, adding that they should develop braver players and stop fearing the consequences.
Bopara insisted that there is a sense of fear in the team that they need to get rid of, pointing out that they didn't play with aggression and heart as there was a fear of failure.
Bopara said that they need to be free as players and at times stop being so English, adding that they are very, very English and it feels quite institutionalised at times. He said that for too long they have been worried about what people think of them.
Bopara insisted that they should say it straight up that they weren't good enough at the World Cup and they have to solve this.
