Boris Becker fears Nadal may quit Wimbledon 'for good' after shock exit

German tennis legend Boris Becker has said that he feared that Spanish tennis ace Rafael Nadal may never play at Wimbledon again following his shock exit from the ongoing tournament after losing to Belgium's Steve Darcis.

The French Open champion was again suffering from knee problems as he lost to World No.44 Darcis, the Mirror reports.

According to triple Wimbledon champion Becker, Nadal now has to consider whether grass has a future for him, adding that he had felt that the Spaniard should not have contemplated playing this year in the tournament.

However, World No.2 Andy Murray said that although there will be a lot of criticisms following Nadal's exit from the tournament, he believed that the 12-time Grand Slam winner will be back, although he added that he felt that Nadal must found difficult that he played predominantly on clay this year.

Stating that injuries are common to players, Murray further said that they often make a difference to a player's performance, adding that unfortunately a player is termed as a 'sore loser' if he talks about his injuries later.

Meanwhile, German player Philipp Kohlschreiber reportedly forfeited his match by walking off the court, after telling the umpire that he was 'tired'.

According to the report, the World No.16 was two sets up on Croatia's Ivan Dodig but dropped the next two, after which he decided to walk off, although Kohlschreiber later denied that he quit over bad calls and claimed that he was just 'angry' for suffering from flu.
