Former England batsman Geoffrey Boycott has called disgraced former Indian Premier League (IPL) boss Lalit Modi a 'gamekeeper-turned-poacher' following Modi's statement that the IPL has harmed international cricket.

Modi was found guilty of committing acts of misconduct and indiscipline leading to his removal from the lucrative Indian Twenty20 league's board and his subsequent lifetime ban by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

According to www.PakPassion.net, Boycott said that he would be very careful in believing a person like Modi as he has turned from a gamekeeper into a poacher, adding that he cannot understand why Modi has changed his mind about IPL harming international cricket as he himself was instrumental in making the tournament happen.

Boycott further hinted that it might be a case of 'sour grapes' with Modi now that he has been dismissed from his IPL post, adding that Modi might even have realised that although the IPL is making millions of dollars for a number of people, it is not doing a good service to international cricket.

Although Boycott hailed Modi as an 'engaging, amicable individual', he however, said that it is easy for Modi to stand back and criticise the IPL now that he is no longer involved in it.
