Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's 'By the Sea' has been slated for November release.
The Universal Pictures film, which was written, directed, and produced by the pair, centers on the collapsing marriage of two American expats, Roland and his wife Vanessa (Jolie Pitt), who move to a beautiful seaside resort in 1970s France, People magazine reported.
The movie, which is their first onscreen appearance as a married couple and also stars Malanie Laurent, Melvil Poupaud, Niels Arestrup and Richard Bohringer, is set to evoke "European cinema and theater of the '60s and '70s."
The actress said that the story showed a "relationship derailed by loss, the tenacity of love, and the path to recovery and acceptance," and she was privileged to have a generous and talented cast and crew on board.
Donna Langley, chairman of Universal Pictures said that celebrity couple's work was an "intimate gem" that offered an unexpected experience.
