Brazil football great Pele has decided to sell off a collection of his prestigious footballing memorabilia, including his three World Cup medals and a one-of-a-kind Jules Rimet replica trophy, according to auctioneers.
In addition, the 75-year-old is putting his 1000th goal ball and crown, and jerseys he wore while playing for Brazilian club Santos FC and the New York Cosmos for auction.
According to Stuff.co.nz, the three-day auction will start in London from June 7-9 after a public exhibition starting on June 1.
Pele won three World Cups as a player and has been named Football Player of the Century by FIFA, Athlete of the Century by the International Olympic Committee, and a national treasure by Brazil's government.
He also holds the Guinness World Record for most goals in a career with 1283.
