A new study has revealed that the rate of breast-lift surgery has been on the rise by 70 percent since 2000.
According to the report from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, more than 90,000 women got mastopexy done in 2013, while more than 290,200 people underwent breast augmentation surgery and 70 percent of these cases involved women of ages 30-54, CBS News reported.
Dr. Robert X. Murphy said that the ideal candidate for a breast lift is a woman who has a good amount of breast tissue left, who doesn't necessarily want to have implants and many women aren't sure if they are a candidate for this type of surgery, but a simple pencil test can tell them if they are.
The report also said that the top five plastic surgery procedures in 2013 were breast augmentation, nose reshaping, eyelid surgery, liposuction and facelifts.
