YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy on Tuesday called for action against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu following the arrest of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA A. Revanth Reddy for attempting to bribe a nominated member of the state assembly.

"Such a chief minister, who has corrupted our state, who was caught red handed trying to buy an MLA...where is this money coming from. Just because Chandrababu Naidu is the Chief Minister of a state, why has no action been taken against him?" Reddy said after meeting President Pranab Mukherjee in the national capital.

"Naidu has been caught with unaccounted money and he is using this money to literally buy another party's MLA. We will meet the Home Minister tomorrow and have also asked for an appointment with the Prime Minister," he added.

Revanth Reddy was arrested after the nominated member, Elvis Stephenson, lodged a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

The TDP MLA and his aide had gone to Stephenson's residence in Secunderabad to hand over the cash when the ACB caught the two.
